In the Beginning Was the Word

John 1:1-3
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.

The Wrong Understanding

Many people will view this scripture as a contradiction to Genesis chapter 1 verse 1 where the Bible says:

In the beginning God created -- the heaven and -- the earth.

Some will think that the Bible is talking about two persons: Christ who is called the "Word" and the Father who is called "Jehovah". They will go as far as representing Christ as a young man standing next to an old man called the Father.

Human perception of God and the Son

Others also think that God did not really create. They think that God was giving instructions to the Son on what to create and the Son created it.

But this conception they have of Christ and the Father is not true. The Word and the Father are not two different Beings. It's the Same Person.

The foundation

Before we move further into this discussion, we need to have a solid foundation about how many Gods we have.

We cannot call ourselves Christians and still be confused about the number of Gods we have.

Christians should believe that there is only One God and not Two or Three Gods.

Here is what the Bible says:

Deuteronomy 6:4
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
Isaiah 45:5
I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
Deuteronomy 4:35
Unto thee it was showed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him.
Isaiah 44:6
Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
1 Kings 8:60
That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD -- is God, and that there is none else.

From the above Scriptures, we learn that there is Only One God, not two, three. Believing that there is more than One God is wrong. We will never grow in revelation if we don't know who Our God is.

Christians have argued about this for 2000 years. It separated people into groups called trinitarians, Oneness and others who believe in only a 2-part Godhead (Father and Son). But the Truth is that there is only One God and He is a Spirit.

John 4:24
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Before the creation

In order to understand this, we need to go back before the creation. Before creation, God was the invisible Spirit called the "Fountain of Life" or "Fountain of Seven Colors".

There were many attributes like Father, Son, Holy Ghost, Saviour, Healer, Redeemer, Provider, Comforter and many, many more in Him.

Then God who was the Invisible Spirit changed from being this One Big Fountain of Life and took a Bodily Form looking like a Man (Not flesh man, but a Spiritual Body having the form of a man).

In this new state of existence of God, He was perceived as something that resembles light.

This new state of existence of God is what we call "Heaven" or the "Seventh Dimension".

In this Spiritual Body, He was called the "Word" or "Logos". It was the Same God changing form, moving from being the Invisible God into the Visible God (Visible to the spiritual eye). The Word or Logos is God being expressed into another form.

It's only when God took the form of the "Word" or "Logos" that He start creating all things that are indivisible and visible.

And this is the meaning of John 1:1-3. This Scripture is not about another God. It's about the Same God of Genesis 1.

Stay blessed
